2. The Service

OneBookList is a platform for sharing book recommendations and personal stories, and for browsing books and stories posted by users.

Some features require signing in using Google.

We may update, improve, add, remove, or discontinue parts of the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

4. Accounts And Security

You sign in using Google authentication.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date where the Service allows updates.

You must not share access to your account, buy or sell accounts, or use the Service in a way that bypasses access controls.

5. Privacy

We process personal data according to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding personal data, the Privacy Policy prevails.

6. User Content
6.1 Definition

“User Content” means content you submit or make available through the Service, including stories, reviews, comments, book submissions, profile content, and any other material you post.

6.2 Ownership

You keep ownership of your User Content.

6.3 License You Grant Us

By submitting User Content, you grant OneBookList a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, and distribute your User Content only for the purposes of:

Operating the Service and making your content available to others

Maintaining and improving the Service, including formatting and accessibility

Promoting the Service, including featuring your story or excerpts in OneBookList channels

If you do not want your story featured outside the Service (for example, on social media or in a newsletter), email us at piotrzkowski.dev@gmail.com
and we will respect reasonable requests.

6.4 Removal And Duration Of License

If you delete your User Content, we will stop displaying it publicly within a reasonable time.

Copies may remain for a limited period due to technical reasons such as backups, caching, security logs, and abuse prevention.

If your content has already been used in promotional materials, we will make reasonable efforts to stop future use, but we may not be able to remove content already published or distributed.

6.5 Your Responsibilities

You agree that your User Content:

Is yours or you have permission to post it

Does not violate law or infringe any rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, and publicity rights

Is not illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, exploitative, or spam

Does not include sensitive personal data of others, including addresses, phone numbers, private documents, or payment details

Does not impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation

You are solely responsible for your User Content.

7. Moderation And Review

We may review, approve, reject, remove, or request changes to submissions.

We may suspend or terminate accounts to enforce these Terms, comply with law, or protect users and the Service.

8. Book Covers And Book Metadata

The Service may display book titles, author names, and book covers for identification and discovery.

These elements may be owned by publishers or other rights holders.

The exact URL or clear identification of the content on our Service

Your contact details

A brief explanation of the claim

A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act

We may remove or restrict access to content while reviewing complaints.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Break the law using the Service

Attempt to bypass security, probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities

Scrape the Service excessively, use harmful automation, or harvest data in a way that disrupts the Service

Create fake accounts, manipulate likes, or spam

Upload malware or interfere with the Service

Reverse engineer the Service except where mandatory law allows it

Harass, threaten, or doxx others

We may apply rate limits and technical measures to prevent abuse.

10. Affiliate Disclosure

Prices and availability are controlled by third parties, not by us.

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and all non user content, is owned by or licensed to OneBookList.

You receive a limited, personal, non transferable, revocable right to use the Service according to these Terms.

You may not copy, distribute, or exploit the Service except as allowed by law or with our written permission.

13. Disclaimers

Book recommendations and stories reflect users’ opinions and experiences.

We do not guarantee results or outcomes from any book, recommendation, or content.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14. Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OneBookList is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Polish or EU law.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless OneBookList from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of:

Your User Content

Your use of the Service

Your violation of these Terms or applicable law

16. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if needed to protect the Service, users, or comply with law.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 6, 13, 14, 15, and 17.

17. Governing Law And Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland.

Any disputes will be resolved by courts competent under Polish law.

If you are a consumer, this does not remove any mandatory rights you may have under consumer protection laws, including rules that may allow you to bring claims in your place of residence.

18. Changes To These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will be posted on the Service with an updated Effective Date.

Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
